EXT. WALKWAY BY A BRIDGE – NIGHT
A quiet night. Faint city noise. Streetlights flicker. BEN (16, hoodie up, earbuds in) walks home from work, hands in his pockets. His breath fogs in the cold air.
His phone BUZZES. A TEXT from an UNKNOWN NUMBER:
"You have 90 seconds to run."
Ben slows. Looks around. No one’s there. He types back:
BEN (TEXT): Who is this?
No response. He exhales sharply, shakes his head, and keeps walking.
Then—A STREETLIGHT GOES OUT ahead of him. A FIGURE stands at the far end of the bridge, still, watching.
Ben stiffens. His heartbeat quickens.
He PULLS OUT HIS PHONE and dials JESS. It RINGS… RINGS… then goes to VOICEMAIL.
JESS’ VOICEMAIL (O.S.)
Hey, it’s Jess. Leave a message!
BEN (whispering, tense)
Jess, call me back. Something weird is happening.
The second he hangs up—HIS PHONE RINGS.
UNKNOWN NUMBER.
Ben hesitates. Answers.
BEN (whispering)
Hello?
A moment of silence. Then—
JESS (ON PHONE, DISTORTED, SHAKY WHISPER)
Ben… run.
Ben’s blood runs cold.
BEN
Jess?! Where are—
A DEEP, RASPING BREATH comes through the phone.
UNKNOWN VOICE (WHISPERING, LOW)
Time’s up.
SUDDENLY—A HAND GRABS BEN’S SHOULDER FROM BEHIND! A FACE LUNGES INTO FRAME—A MASKED FIGURE WITH HOLLOW EYES!
SMASH TO BLACK.
SOUND: A LOUD, DISTORTED SCREAM.
END.
